Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! This weekend in Canada, is Thanksgiving weekend where people eat and drink with family, similar to Christmas, huge spread of wonderful food including roast turkey. People also often reflect on what they’re thankful for. I for one am thankful for the time I have had, and look forward to the time I do have.

Monkey Town

I was transferred to Moncton Hospital via ambulance Tuesday night. It wasn’t an emergency, but Ambo’s are what they transport you in regardless if its an emergency or not. Those things are not designed for the patient. You could feel every bump on the way here. Miramichi to Moncton is about an hour and thirty minutes, it didnt seem that long because I had some great staff on board with me, plus I had plenty to catch up on, on my phone. No, not candy crush.

Well that was unexpected...

As far as blog posts go. I’ve been MIA (missing in action). I’ve been fortunate to have some visitors, my brother and his wife, then shortly after my dear friends from Australia made the trek over, and anyone who knows me well knows I was busy entertaining those guests.

Health Update

Straight to business. I got a call at the hospital on Wednesday from my Oncology team in Moncton, whilst I was getting Chemo, which wasn’t the greatest timing, but if I can take calls, I do. That goes for anyone, if you wanna call me up for a chat, call anytime. If I can’t take your call, I’ll endeavour to call you back asap. That goes for friends and family on messenger, don’t be shy.

Hero

Everyday I'm encouraged by one of my biggest inspirations, my daughter. Everyday she's creative with her artwork, and she's like that because her mother encourages her to be instead of screen time. For the fact her mother encourages her creative spark, and of course, the art work that is known to bring a tear to my eye.

In advance, I thank you for respecting our privacy. This is one of the most, if not the most difficult posts I’ve had to make yet on the history of this blog, of my journey…

Tubthumping

Well. I had a bit surgery. This thing called laparoscopy. The way I figure it, they knock you out… cut a few little holes in your belly. One for the camera, one for pumping your belly full of air so it’s easier for them to look around. Well, I can tell you, it feels like they had a real thorough look around because I’ve been feeling the pain…. But maybe that pain is not from surgery, but the pain from the news we were about to learn.

The Unsung Hero

Every mother’s day I am reminded of my mum and how great she was…

Every year as I get older, I have more and more respect and love for her as time goes by. For instance, my mother raised my brother and I by herself. My biological father passed away in a road accident whilst she was pregnant with my younger brother. She raised us by herself until she married my step dad in 1992. As a dad myself now, I thought..

Fever

Where to begin? Well, let’s start what with what was scheduled. Thursday 25th, I was always scheduled to have an MRI and CAT scan, tests to see whether the Chemo has been doing the trick. However, life is not scheduled and I arrived at the hospital a lot earlier for my appointments..
